The process of buying and installing a home theater can be very intimidating. There are hundreds of brands out there and everyone tells you that the brand that they sell is the best. Truth is, in many cases the advice you are getting is from someone who has little or no experience in the field. And the reason that Brand X is the best is because that is what his boss told him to sell since there are 40 in the warehouse.

There are many uses for video cameras in and around your home. The most obvious is for security and protection. While this is important and something that we can easily install for you, I want to focus on the more practical uses.

Placing a small, unobtrusive camera at your front entry door will allow you to see who is there from most any monitor in the home or a web enabled device anywhere in the world. This will really come in handy when you are just getting out of the shower and the doorbell rings!

An IP camera (webcam) will give you a tremendous piece of mind when the baby sitter is watching your child. Having a camera in your small child’s room will is also a great use for this technology. Imagine being able to open a web browser on your cell phone or on your office computer and see exactly what is happening at your home.

I’m sure we’ve all done it. We just had to have a phone at a different spot in the house. Out comes the drill and a few holes through the back of some cabinets later and we had a phone in the den! Maybe, in your case, it wasn’t a phone, but a tv, or internet connection.

Anyone over the age of 25 will certainly remember the conglomeration of tv and phone cables in the basement. As we added stuff, the “birds nest” of wires became a little more creative.

When we are done, every single wire is labeled with 30 year pvc tags that will not smear or rub off.
